house damaged by lightening

If my house was hit by lightening would the insurer class that as an act of god and refuse to pay up?

I do't know of any home insurance policy that do not cover lightening strikes - so you should be OK to Claim. Just in case though, get you poilcy document out and double check - all the details of your cover will be in that document.

The buildings cover aspect of home insurance also typically provides protection against storm damage, theft, explosion, escape of water or oil, vandalism and subsidence.
