Will I have to take time off work to organise my Bankruptcy?

If you decide to apply for Bankruptcy, you will be required to attend the Court hearing. That, together will all the paperwork could easily take a full day. If one of your creditors is petitioning for your Bankruptcy, then as long as you are not objecting to the petition, you do not have to attend the Court hearing.

Thereafter, the Official Receiver will need to talk to you but depending on the complexity of your circumstances and the background of your case, they may decide that this can be done over the phone.

Thereafter, the Official Receiver can require you to come to his offices to answer questions etc as they think fit. Remember, if you do not fully cooperate with Official Receiver you can be arrested.
