Who has to know about my IVA?

One of the main reasons an IVA is more popular than bankruptcy is because an IVA is not made public knowledge. It is far more discreet. The only people that have to know about your IVA are your creditors and your Insolvency Practitioner. Your employer does not need to know - even your wife or husband doesn't need to know about it!

If you are a member of a professional organisation (for example you may be a Medical Doctor) they do not need to be informed unless, within their rules, you are obliged to tell them. (e.g. a member of the Financial Services Authority).
