What Exactly Is Private Medical Insurance (PMI)?Private Medical Insurance (or Private Health Insurance as it is sometimes known) insures you against the costs of private medical treatment for curable short-term or 'acute' medical conditions.Your treatment could include surgery, specialist consultants, accommodation and care at a private hospital (or in a private ward of an NHS hospital) - and depending on the level of cover you choose, you can make a claim on your insurance and receive the treatment for free. As with a car insurance policy, you will sign up for a year with a PMI company and pay your premiums either monthly, quarterly or annually. It is your choice whether to renew with your insurer each year or not. They will issue you with a renewal and details of your new premiums at renewal time. However, before each renewal date our Health Insurance Partner, Hifacs PMI, conducts a full market review for every client to ensure you're still getting the best value for money. Then advice is provided regarding you're renewal options. Its all part of our service.
