How Do I Buy Private Medical Insurance?
You can buy private medical insurance from a variety of sources, there are now at least thirty four Insurance companies and many more brokers who specialise in Private Medical Insurance.
You can either deal direct with an insurance company, use an insurance broker or agent`s (including banks, building societies and retail outlets), or go through an independent advisor. Most of these options can be dealt with either over the internet, face to face, over the phone or by post. You will be provided with the full details of the policy and when you have made your mind up, you will fill out an application form and return it to the insurer. If you are not provided with full information at the time of completing your application form, you will be granted a 14 day cooling off period, in which you will be free to change your mind and cancel the policy. Beyond that time, if you cancel your policy you will not be eligible for a refund of the premiums already paid.
Many people end up phoning the Insurance Companies they recognise such as Bupa or Norwich Union. But quite honestly, that's not the wise way to go about it. With so many Insurance Companies in the market, each will provide a range of policies and a host of options to consider.
