What if I lose my pet by theft or straying?
If you lose your pet by theft or straying, you will need to complete a claim form and send it to your insurance company along with the following original documents:
- Purchase receipt
- Pedigree certificate
- Kennel Club / G.C.C.F. registration
- Receipts to support advertising documents (if applicable)
If you have regained your pet, and paid a reward to someone to do so - then you can make a claim for a refund of the award. In this case you need to send a receipts, including the name, address and telephone number of the person you paid the reward to.
If you lose your pet by theft or straying while the pet is with you on holiday, you will need pet travel insurance to cover holiday extension costs to find your pet, and possible advertising and reward costs.
